In 2015, the director of the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona closed an exhibition that included an artwork in which the male figure could be identified with former Spanish king, Juan Carlos I. In light of the pressure against the censorship, the exhibition was reopened, the artwork was displayed and the director resigned.


Biography:

Ines Doujak (Klagenfurt, 1959) is an Austrian artist who examines human behaviour and social roles from a feminist perspective. Racism, colonialism and homosexuality are her main themes. She participated in documenta 12 in Kassel and the Bienal de São Paulo.
