In 1966, both Terry O'Neill and Raquel Welch decided not to publish a photograph of the actress in a bikini crucified on a cross because it was too provocative for the time. It sat in a drawer until 30 years later when it was published on the front cover of The Sunday Times Magazine.


Biography:

Terry O’Neill (Romford, 1938 - London, 2019) was a British photographer known for documenting fashion and the celebrities of the 1960s and 1970s. He excelled at capturing his subjects in unconventional settings. His work is part of the collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London.
